The Dils were one of the most political punk band on the late '70s L.A. punk circuit. Led by harmonizing brothers Chip (vocals, guitar) and Tony Kinman (aka Tony Nineteen; vocals, bass). The The first drummer was Andre Aiqover. In 1978-1979 John Silvers played the drums and in mid 1979 was Zippy Pinhead's (ex-DOA) turn to bang the drums. Dils played the final show at Roosevelt Bar 02/80. During the group's four years of existence, it only released three 7-inch singles; all of their albums were posthumous, culled from the singles and various live performances. Kinman brother were later famous with country-punk band Rank and File.
